Description
Five Mexican Plays is the first volume of the new World Drama series. The aim of the edition is to introduce the reader to the drama of individual countries or regions that are less well known (theatrically) in this country through a committee of three or more contemporary texts, accompanied by studies. The book is published as part of the project Season of Czech Theatre in Latin America, and an anthology of contemporary Czech plays will be published in Mexico. The collection aims to introduce Czech readers to the poetic line of Mexican drama, whose main feature is its characteristic imagery. Its authors often draw on the country’s ancient roots and rich history. Mauricio Jiménez: Only the Sword Can Bring Us Down, Jaime Chabaud: Monodrama of the Divine Shepherd of Góngora, Angel Norzagaray: Letters to the Foot of the Tree, David Olguin: Belize and Hugo Hiriart: Amber.
