Description

The first independent dictionary on dance in the Czech territory. It contains approximately 1,400 entries, which provide a basic and concise selection of information and data on companies, groups, schools, institutions and personalities of Czech dance, ballet and mime from the 18th century to the year 2000. In addition to the stage professional dance sphere, the dictionary also includes selected entries from the amateur, folklore and alternative spheres. The book is accompanied by 450 black and white photographs. Edited by Jana Holeňová and prepared by the Cabinet for the Study of Czech Theatre and external collaborators. Cover and graphic design by Vladimír Nárožník.
