The tenth volume of the series Personalities of Czech Scenography, published since 2014 by the Arts and Theatre Institute, is a monograph dedicated to the scenic and costume designer Karel Glogr (born 1958). Glogr studied scenography from 1977 to 1984 with professors Jan Dušek and Albert Pražák at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he has been teaching since 1999. He was engaged as a stage designer at the Oldřich Stibor State Theatre in Olomouc (1985-1987), the Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre in Pilsen (1987-1989), the E. F. Burian Theatre in Prague (1989-1990) and the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague (1991-2004). As a guest he has collaborated with theatres all over the Czech Republic and with foreign theatres (Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Estonia). The directors with whom he has collaborated most often include Jan Burian, Hana Burešová, Ladislav Smoček, Petr Kracik and Jiří Menzel.
